Corporate learners are rarely given a quiet hour to focus — they’re pulled into meetings, messages, and urgent tasks mid-module. Long-form content gets abandoned, and completion data quietly becomes a vanity metric. Microlearning units (5–10 minutes) fit into real workflow gaps: between meetings, during a commute, or right before a task where the skill is needed. Chunking also mirrors how working memory actually processes information — smaller units are easier to encode and retrieve later. In practice, this means breaking a “communication skills” course into standalone pieces like “giving feedback” and “active listening” rather than one long linear course.
Realistically, how much uninterrupted time can you or your team give to this each week — one long session, or a few short bursts? What is more effective?
