Hello and welcome to the very first post on the new (and long awaited) ‘Learning Matters’ free online magazine, developed specifically for members of the Australian (and New Zealand) Learning & Development and Organisational Development community.
About the ALDN
The Australian Learning & Development Network is an industry group that was established to meet the specific (and somewhat unique) needs of the (often time-poor) members of the Australian Learning and Development/Organisational Development community who (unlike their colleagues in the generalist HR space, who have a large number of member-based organisations, conventions, etc developed to address their needs), somewhat ironically, rarely have the opportunity to develop their own capabilities.
The group meets via this magazine, on its on-line Linkedin group, and at regular free morning teas that aims to provide Learning & Development professionals across Australia with a place to connect with their local peers, to network, to exchange ideas, to ask (and answer) questions, etc.
The group has sponsors (the platinum sponsor being Rhodes Business School (Australia)), that enable membership and events to be free of charge.
Topics for the forum include (but are by no means limited to):
– L&D news
– Seminar/Presentation/Events information
– L&D best-practice
– Program/RTO/Facilitator recommendations
– Capability frameworks
– Grants & funded programs
– Training evaluation (ROI)
– Latest trends
– E-Learning
– L&D/OD awards
If you wish to join the network, you can either send your full name and email address to srussell@rhodesgroup.com.au or simply click on the ‘follow’ button to the top-right of this page – you can unsubscribe anytime and your details are kept in the strictest of confidence. And, of course, please feel free to invite your L&D friends and colleagues to join…the bigger the network, the more the group benefits.
Lastly, if you want to contribute articles or ideas (either on a one-off or regular basis), we’d love to hear from you!
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing you all getting involved.
Kind regards,
The ALDN team
